About Us
Stop the Vermont Beverage Tax is a group of concerned citizens, businesses, and community organizations that oppose new taxes on many grocery items.
We formed the coalition in response to a tax being pushed by Attorney General Sorrell that could raise costs by as much as 20% – on most of your favorite beverages like sodas and juice drinks.
The government is already getting too big and too involved in our lives. And there is no guarantee where the money will go or how it will be spent. Vermont families are already financially strapped and can’t afford another tax hit.
We oppose more taxes during this difficult economy.
